1973: LETTER FROM TRISTRAM CARY TO GILES "DENMARK" MITCHELL

In 1973 - When I was in my last year of DipAD of Fine Art - as i had been working in electronic art, music, installation, and had bought a Synthi A to work at home - i was looking for places to continue in my experimental and electronic music. I visited Cardiff as there was a studio of electronic music there - during that year. I wrote to John Cage and Tristram Cary (British Australian composer) -for ideas of where and how to continue. At Trent Poly during my years there - i went to various lectures and classes on contemporary experimental music, and had a visiting tutor - Michael Nyman, who visited frequently. In 1974 - I went to the Slade School of Art where i experimented in electronic music and computer art.
